Nehalem school 1930s

natatorium, pool, swim

Early in 1929, board members of Nehalem district 39 and Mohler district 28 began discussing closing the Mohler school and busing the children to Nehalem. Nehalem board members worked with City council and private owners to acquire additional land, then built an auditorium to replace the wood storage under the gymnasium. Early in 1930 they began the douth wing of the school with four new classrooms and a pool. Students from Mohler doubled the Nehalem school enrollment when they arrived in the fall of 1930.
