Though photo is not dated, the Manzanita Post Office is celebrating something as there is a good size band waiting to play. (Possibly the Pine Grove Dedication Celebration in August, 1933.) The building is what is now the Sand Dune Pub.

The Post Offices began opening up in the later 1800s. The earliest recorded was Onion Peak, 1884, which in turn moved to Nehalem in 1896. They all have consolidated to Larger towns, and at this point we have Manzanita, Nehalem, and Wheeler (2012)…
